Hot College Recruiting Hostess Is Same Tactic Used in Staffing Agencies
The South is about one thing and one thing only. College Football. You can keep your Yankees and Boston Red Sox, talk all you want about the Cowboys or Packers, the Lakers and Knicks or whatever. But in the South, no one cares unless it’s College Football.
As of recently, University of Tennessee is catching some heat over using Recruiting Hostesses to visit high school football stars.
Folks are all in uproar and wanting to discipline the UT coach, Lane Kiffin, for unsavory recruiting practices.
The UT Recruiting girls visited some schools 200 miles away. They are blonde, good looking and have been a major story for the NY Times.
I have been in corporate recruiting for sometime. I deal with a lot of agencies. And, let me tell you. A lot of agencies (not naming any names) tend to hire very attractive females as Account Managers.
And, I have met plenty of very intelligent attractive agency Account Managers and I have met some that are NOT so talented nor understand staffing, but they have a great figure and blonde hair.
Here we have football programs using the same tactic that most companies use in their sales teams. Attractive women.
I would never want my daughter to be a College Recruiting Hostess for any team.
But hiring attractive men and women for Recruiting has been around for years. Just look at medial Sales Reps.
And I don’t think this college recruiting tactic will ever go away even if it makes headline news in the NY Times.

hmmm interesting. I have always been more attracted to red heads… lol
But seriously, I have suspected this for a long time. Hope the idea of this starts to shift from physical attraction to true talent attraction!
