What Really Happens on Take Your Kid To Work Days

Ever took your kid to work because it was “Take Your Kid to Work Day”?

I never understood this. It should be called half day because that is how much work you are going to get done.

Here’s how it usually goes down on these special days.

The worker drags their kid(s) to the office. They sit at the desk and color or make things for about an hour. Then the kid is snooping around the halls and eventually finds the break room with the vending machines. Once they consume some cookies, chips, and a honey bun - get ready the fun is about to start…

Next, the kid(s) is jacked up on sugar and soda running around like a maniac. Quickly becomes out of control unti the parent co-worker chases the kid(s) and does corrective action on the spot and finally marched back to the office.

For the next hour, you (the co-worker) can hear the kid(s) bouncing off the walls and doing desk dives.

Your parent co-worker decides to take an “early lunch.”

After the lunch the kid(s) are cranky and bored. No TV, no bed, no playground equals major whining.

The parent co-worker decides he/she has had enough and they will “work from home” the rest of the day.

Here is great little clip when a Storm Trooper takes his daughter to work. Enjoy!
